New development in Cheddars Lane

A planning application has been put in for 321 student rooms in Cheddars Lane. Plans can be view online on the Cambridge City Council planning portal. The planning application number is 15/0398/FUL. The deadline for comments is Friday 10th April (which is today so hurry if you want to make a comment). Residents are concerned about the extra strain more housing in the area will cause, the size of the proposed buildings, the change to local small businesses and the precedent that the development will set.

In addition to making comments on the planning portal you can email these people:

Tony Collins (Planning Office) – tony.collins@cambridge.gov.uk
Peter Robers (local City Councillor) – peter.roberts@cambridge.gov.uk

West Planning Application

There are proposals to develop the Wests Garage site on Newmarket Road. The current application proposes the building of a four story 257 student hotel. The planning submission was given in just before Christmas. The timing has meant that residents have not been able to give the application heir full attention.

The Cambridge News have run a story on it and you can find more details of the application by going to the council website and clicking on ‘Documents’.
Comments and objections can be viewed by clicking on ‘Comments’.

A local resident has photographed the area and projected the proposed development onto it.
